An Introduction to Photoshop.

The course is aimed at computer literate, photoshop beginners. People with imagination and who can think creatively. It will introduce the key concepts in a clear and precise way, enabling the beginner to start to understand just how Photoshop works and what they can do with it! … Not what it can do for them!

You have often heard how Photoshop can ‘manipulate’ images. Forget this for a start. Photoshop does nothing by itself. You are the one who can manipulate the images – using Photoshop. When you grasp what this means you are well on your way to learning Photoshop..
I introduce Photoshop as just another tool for the creative person, like a Brush or like a Pen. Another tool, albeit a very complex and powerful one.
At the end of the course you, the learner, will feel much more comfortable and confident with books that Teach Photoshop and the assumptions those books often make.

An analogy.
Consider this course as a 'Learning to Drive' course. Do not worry about 'Which Version' of Photoshop - CS1, CS5, Extended, Elements etc. etc. - Consider these versions as different types of vehicles - vans, trucks, buses, cars - while they have their differences, there is one thing they have in common - they require that you can drive before you sit behind the wheel of any of them.
As you progress through our course you will begin to feel much more confident with the language and words used to describe processes and concepts when working with digital images and most important you will no longer feel intimidated when the application opens on your own computer with all those Buttons, Menus, Palettes and Symbols and you hear yourself gasp!
It takes time, patience, dedication and most of all, a creative imagination, to learn to use and master Photoshop.
It’s an exciting trip, full of amazing surprises! … and the best thing of all! …. It never ends!
